On the same day when a madman finally had some sense talked into him and decided not to burn Qurans – a situation which likely would have killed a lot of people and hurt a lot of good progress being made – a handful of college students took to the quad of Harding University to place roughly 3000 flags.
Those flags represent those killed at the World Trade Center on Sept.11, 2001.
And on the same day when there is a lot of insanity going on in the world, a lot of loud people saying loud things wanting their point heard…
…you have a young father in central Arkansas on a rainy day teaching his daughters about a patriotism drawn from a horrible event that – even though only a few years ago – occurred before they were born.
The lessons that world events might teach us might not be as plain or as bold as “THIS IS WHAT YOU SHOULD BELIEVE.”
I believe the terrorists failed that day because of what I see here.
The 3000 deaths were not in vain.
I remember. These students remember. All our children will remember.
Stay tuned, its a beautiful world.
