Today was a long drive. And that pretty much sums up the day.
But to sum up an entire day’s worth of time without any images? That would surely be a travesty.
So, I might as well introduce you to my travel buddy on this trip: my Dad.
This trip is designed around medical aid and my Dad decided to go, being of that nature. Of course, I’m going, too.
So… we journeyed south from San Diego into the Baja peninsula.
We drove south past Ensenada, past San Vincente, through all the windy roads and military checkpoints, 5hrs south to San Quintin – pronounced “San Kiteen.”
This photo kinda hurts my head, there’s so much going on. But its my favorite from the day:
If not that one, definitely this one:
The feeling that I got in all this driving today? Isolation.
So that’s how I shot, specifically, once I got into that mood.
Not unusual for me to isolate, but…
Its how I saw this land. It was isolated. The peninsula, its like its pushed out here into the desert between two rivers, one road, all these hills, rough roads barely paved.
Everything sparse, unfinished.
And here we come with a huge group. Foreign aid. Documenting the process.
Stay tuned, that’s all you must do…
