I really enjoy teaching. I love conveying information, teaching people things… probably a little of just like to hear myself talk. But one of the most vivid way to teach for me it to explain it as I’m showing it, then letting them see what they get.
Well, since I’m graduating I am taking every opportunity I can to teach people at my university a little bit of what I do. There’s a number of people within the student publications office in which I work that take every opportunity to learn.
So in this case, while I was setting up for a shoot, I was showing a few people some studio lighting stuff with small strobes and then showing them a few Lightroom tricks to make the standard “black and white” look a little more dramatic and vivid than the usual… far more editing than the usual. So I set up the lights and camera for them, explained what I was doing and sat down to let them shoot around… and this is what came of it.
I guess I shouldn’t have let the preset action run for my little watermark because – technically – its not mine.
So, is it a cheat on the 365 Days of Photos if… nah…! Sometimes its the only way I get to be in a photo!
