I’ve been shooting cross-platform for as long as I’ve been using cameras. My big three have always been Nikon (because my cameras have been extraordinary for years), Canon (because the office uses it), and Leica (because I have a fetish).
My friends, now I have ventured into the land of the HD-DSLR with the Canon 7D. Crossed over to the dark side, I guess.
Speaking of dark side, the camera came today. Gotta do all those test shot things.
The camera is actually very well balanced and easy to use. One thing I’m kinda fascinated by is the fact I seem to be able to hand-hold it at a lower shutter speed than usual. The one above at a pretty smooth 1/13th @ f/2. It likely has to do with the smooth action of the shutter – which, by the way, is just stupidly quiet.
Oh well, enough geeking out. I’ll be posting more about my experience with the Canon 7D in the coming days.
Like all new cameras, I live with it – and only it – for a long time so I get it down like second nature. Adding video to the mix changes the game a little. I am NO videographer.
An extension of my eye.
So, stay tuned…
