The Casablanca you are looking for likely only exists in the movies. I don’t mean to sound too harsh about that, but much of the romanticism and mysticism tied up in Morocco is NOT going to be found in Casablanca.
In fact, the LonelyPlanet guide for Morocco pretty much recommends just two or three things and then says to move on.
But, for the sake of images, it does make some pretty interesting ones…
By the way, if anyone was wondering, all of the editing done to these photos are done in Lightroom3 and the border/watermark is added with Gimp. I don’t even have Photoshop on this computer yet because it hasn’t been in the United States yet… where my copy of CS4 is located.

…are pretty straight out of the camera.
And black-and-white images like the first one and…
…have a very simple LR3 conversion done to them. Its mostly by hand, too, considering some are randomly warmer than others… silly MacBook Pro screen.
Otherwise, just a 24-hour stop in Casablanca before continuing on…
