It was one of those tough games to see end.
On Saturday I drove a while with fellow photographer Jeff Montgomery and shot a football game. The team was on the road.
I haven’t posted a straight photo blog in a while, but football games don’t lend themselves to excessively deep musings.
So… Harding vs Northeastern State University. Harding loses 41-43 in a down-to-the-wire blocked field goal attempt.
As a side note: most of these photos were made with a Nikkor 80-400/4.5-5.6 and a Nikkor 70-200/2.8VR. Ridiculously amazing sharpness, check out that grass/dust flying around in the air.
There were quite a number of shoddy calls. One, in fact, happened right in front of me as the side-line official ran into a player as the offense was coming off and the defense was going on… called it sideline interference.
I think everyone was confused that it was even possible to have sideline interference after the play had ended…
So, beyond that, I’m always a fan of the paying attention to what’s happening on the sideline.
And just because the game ended, doesn’t mean the drama does.
In fact, that’s the “drama” I prefer. Football is like watching a play, a performance… something put on a stage.
The actors are still real people…
By the way, today’s B&W processing brought to you by Tri-X 400 film response curves.
So, football done. Stay tuned, there will be more…
