I don’t shoot football like I used to. I mean that both literally and conceptually.
I seldom photograph football games anymore. But, also, I shoot football like I shoot any feature story: the whole scene is the story. To only have the goings-on of the area between the sidelines is a small fraction of what is going on.
Of course, I’m not telling anything new.
…he actually had to be taken away in an ambulance.
But then the players had more drive and more inspiration to fight harder.
Coming out of the locker room, the players stepped it up.
Until they broke the tie and won with a few seconds remaining in the game after a really long, really nice field goal…
There were tears on both sides. It was a rather crushing defeat. But the coach for Harding gathered his men and spoke to them, choking back tears.
Good job, guys. Hard-fought win. Congratulations.
