Is it possible to sum up a place?
These are the photos from one day in Venice: 8:27am – 8:52pm.
Venice. As the tours pour in, people live here.
As the sequens cover the ground from the Carnaval, there are people who barely look up at the eons of history that makes up the shell, the albumen, and the yolk of their existence.
I think it is important to remember the amount of sonder that exists in a place like Venice, Athens, and Cairo.
Photography has the incredible ability to freeze it for just a moment. The man climbing the that set of stairs has an entire existence completely separate from mine with his own struggles and worries and thoughts… but for a brief flash of time – the span of time it took to cross the end of the alley – our venn diagrams overlapped.
Then it moved on.
…because it is too good to lose.
